BluTV, Turkey’s first and largest local subscription video-on-demand service which not only offers a wide range of local and international TV series, movies, shorts and documentaries but also provides live TV broadcasts.

Project Brief & Overview
In January 2021, BluTV and Discovery announced Discovery's strategic investment in BluTV, the leading local SVOD service in Turkey.

The strategic partnership will also make BluTV home to all Discovery content and live TV channels. Therefore, my team and I worked on a project to show and explore Discovery content on the BluTV platform.

My responsibilities were making the competitive analysis, user experience design, usability tests, and visual design through the process.
Design Process

Competitive Analysis
Identify competitors’ strengths and weaknesses relative to their own business, product, and design

Prototyping
Created an interactive prototype to validate and refine design decisions at an early stage in the process

UX & UI Design
Designed user experience and visuals to show and explore Discovery content through the BluTV platform

Usability Test
One-to-one interview research in which the user is asked to perform a series of tasks in a prototype or a product
Competitive Analysis
In the beginning, I made competitor analysis as a method to review and explore trends in video streaming platforms around the world. Analyzed 8+ popular digital platforms such as Hulu, Disney+ and Netflix.


Typography & Colour Palette
Typography
Through this project, BluTV's visual language is started to change as well. A new colour palette and iconography have been used in the platform. New visual components have been added to attract the audiences and give essential information about the platform to the audiences.

Result
After the launch, the Discovery content was watched over 620.000 hours in 3 months.

In the last 30 days, over 386.000 hours of Discovery content was played.
